John F. Bracey, DC

A calling that started close to home

Dr. Bracey wanted to become a doctor from a young age. His mother and aunt, both nurses, helped shape that interest. When his mother married Dr. Roger Roff—the original owner of this clinic—healthcare became part of daily family life.

As a teenager, Dr. Bracey was involved in an accident that left him with chronic headaches. The care and guidance he received from Dr. Roff helped him recover and showed him how meaningful chiropractic care could be. He chose to carry that work forward as the seventh doctor of chiropractic in his family.

Education and clinical training

Dr. Bracey earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Carolina in 1998 and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic as a Doctor of Chiropractic in October 2001.

His technique training includes Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson, Activator and the Palmer Package. He has completed Dr. Arthur Croft’s four-module postgraduate program focused on whiplash and motor-vehicle trauma, as well as postgraduate education with Dr. Stanley Kaplan in rating musculoskeletal and nervous-system impairment.

He is also an FMCSA-certified medical examiner for CDL/DOT driver medical examinations.

Still rooted in Dillon

Dr. Bracey was raised in Dillon and remains active in the community. He attends First Baptist Church of Dillon, where he has served as a deacon and on church committees, and volunteers as a firefighter with Dillon County Station 1. Away from the clinic, he enjoys time with family and friends and traveling to new places.
